Prelà

Prelà is the main town of the Prino upper valley. The ancient feudal castle dominates the entire valley from its strategic position. At the bottom of the valley, there is the trade center of Molini di Prelà, which derives its name from its numerous mills, pushed by the natural strength of the water of the nearby stream. In these oil-mills the precious olives, main product of the entire territory, are crushed.
Canneto, Case Carli, Costiolo, Praelo, Tavole, Valloria and Villatalla are part of the Commune of Prelà.

Valloria has become from an anonymous village an open-air picture gallery thanks to an imaginative idea, full of creativity and irony: that of using the doors of houses as if they were canvasses. A project that has allowed the village to welcome more than 72 works of art, produced over the years by well-known artists that have earned the village the title of the “Painted village” of Italy.
Valloria is a maze of alleyways and arcades that are an incredible open-air art gallery, “that can be visited free of charge every day of the year and every hour of the day, as the intensity of the colours on the doors gradually changes with the changinglight”.
